Our Mission:

Dedicated to the protection of native animals and plants in their natural communities.

The Wilderness Conservation Foundation was formed in 2006, with the purpose of preserving land as a natural wilderness area, but that can be accessed by the public through public lands and conservation easements. Through generous donations, the WCF now has 30 acres of land on Saddle Peak and another 10 acres off Mulholland Highway in Agoura Hills, California. The WCF preserves this land in its natural state for this and future generations to enjoy the natural beauty of a California wilderness.

Native Vegetation

With Hollywood portraying California with Palm Trees swaying in the breeze, some people may forget that these are not native to California. On Wilderness Conservation Foundation lands, visitors will have the opportunity to see vegetation that is native to California, such as California Buckwheat, Greenbar Lil Ceanothus, Oak Trees and Scrub Oak, Holly Leaved Redberry, and other native vegetation to our mountainous terrains with ocean breezes from Malibu.

Animal Habitats

Our mountainous terrain on WCF properties are also home to many of the animals native to our land in the Santa Monica Mounntains, and we at WCF strive to maintain this natural habitat. Our residents include deer, coyotes, mountain lions, various rodent species, and reptiles, such as rattle snakes, California Kingsnake, Gopher snakes, and Garter snakes. These lands also are home to the Western Fence Lizard

Accessibility

Wilderness Conservation Foundation lands are near public roads and located around National Park Service lands and share in easements to these same lands. WCF wants to make this land available for public access, while maintaining the natural state of the vegetation and animal habitats thereon. Donations of land are always appreciated and will be maintained in their natural state and never be constructed on or developed.
